Merit Badge Program

Snow Valley is the original home of the Merit Badge Program in Southern California! The program is offered for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, but parents, siblings and friends can accompany the troop and take advantage of our group rates and discounts. The program is offered on weekends and also on weekdays. Spaces are limited and some restrictions apply.

  • Minimum of 10 paid scouts (under age 18) required to qualify for group rates.
  • Groups must book 14 days in advance with a $200 deposit.
  • Confirmation and payment in full must be made 3 days prior to arrival.
  • Receive one (1) free adult chaperone lift ticket for every 10 paid lift tickets as an added bonus.
  • Merit Badge Ski or Snowboard Packages include a full access lift ticket, 1 1/2 hour beginner or intermediate group lesson, rentals and a safety information.
  • Meal vouchers are available.
  • Refunds will not be given due to weather conditions.

Merit Program
Planning Your Trip:
Contact the Snow Valley Group Sales Department as soon as you have selected a date for your visit. We need a minimum of two (2) weeks advance notice, however, we suggest you book earlier whenever possible. All dates are booked on a first come, first served basis and dates are limited.

Snow Valley requires a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold your group reservations. Once a deposit is received, your rental forms will be mailed to you. These forms should be completed to speed up your check-in when you get to Snow Valley.

Payment will be due in full 3 days prior to your arrival. We accept credit cards, troop checks, cashier's checks, money orders or cash as payment. Please make checks payable to: Snow Valley, LLC. At this time you should also provide your final count. We will need to know how many Scouts and Leaders will be attending, how many Scouts will be skiing or snowboarding and if rental equipment will be needed as well.

Changes in your group size and/or services must be made no less than 72 hours prior to your event. At that time all details will be considered final and no refunds will be issued.

Due to the popularity of this program, we strongly urge you to choose the Early Season, Late Season, or Weekday periods for your visit to get the best pricing, avoid the crowds, and ensure a quality experience. Consider taking advantage of teacher conference days to book a midweek date.
On the Morning of Your Trip:
Prior to departure check the weather and road conditions, and remember to always carry snow chains in your vehicle. Weather on the mountain can change rapidly. Always dress warm and in layers, especially hands, feet and head. Don't forget to bring Merit Badge cards for our Merit Badge Counselor to sign. Snow Valley does not provide "blue cards".

Upon arrival the group leader should check in at the Group Sales office (please leave your troop outside). Plan on at least 15-20 minutes to process your paperwork and receive your tickets. Have one of your chaperones proceed to the rental department with your Scouts.

Once you have completed check-in and have your rental equipment, gather on the deck for your safety meeting. After the safety meeting, our Merit Badge Counselor will direct the Scouts to their group lessons. Upon completion of the group lesson, the Scouts will be released to the Troop Leader. The group is then free to spend the balance of the day skiing or snowboarding on their own.

The Troop Leader should leave blue cards with your Group Sales Representative. Cards will be signed as needed and mailed back to the Troop Leader.
