Snow Valley is located in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest and is operated under a special use permit with the United States Forest Service. The beauty of the mountain environment is a major aspect that contributes to Snow Valley’s allure. Southern California is a fast paced, urban society which needs retreats such as Snow Valley within a reasonable distance. The geographical diversity of the region makes accessibility to both the mountains and the beach possible in the same day. The weather at Snow Valley is sunny over 300 days a year – it’s one of the sunniest spots in the United States.

The San Bernardino National Children’s Forest is located within the Snow Valley permit area and provides a means for families with small children to enjoy the wilderness in the off season.

The Mountain
Snow Valley’s base elevation is 6,800 feet and the peak is at 7.841 feet above sea level. The sky is usually clear and blue. Snow Valley provides a quick escape from traffic and smog to the high, clean mountain air.

The length of the season at Snow Valley is generally from Thanksgiving through mid-April. The snowmaking system described later covers over 62 ski-able acres and ensures a quality snow surface on the shoulder periods of the season.

Snow Valley has 35 different ski trails and the longest run is 1.25 miles long. 35% of the terrain is designated for beginners, 35% is designated intermediate, and 30% is for advanced skiers and snowboarders. There are over 240 acres of ski-able terrain at Snow Valley.

Parking
An abundance of parking is another feature that sets Snow Valley apart from the other ski resort facilities in Southern California. Snow Valley can easily accommodate approximately 3000 cars in its wide open, paved lot. Southern Californians have a level of care and appreciation for their cars that far surpass that of other regions in the country. We continuously hear positive comments from our guests regarding the quality of parking at Snow Valley as compared to other resorts in the region, which frequently require that you park several blocks, or even miles, from the resort, and take the “cattle shuttle” to the hill.

Chairlifts
Snow Valley has a total of 11 lifts. Currently there are six double chairlifts and five triple chairlifts. The Lift Maintenance Department thoroughly inspects and maintains the lifts constantly. A complete maintenance program is implemented each summer on every lift that operates at Snow Valley.

Snowmaking
Snow-making technology is always improving. Snow Valley is keeping up with the latest developments in this ever-changing science. This provides a good base to build on in the winter and a quality snow surface for our early season guests.

The consistency of the machine made snow has improved dramatically in the past few years. By carefully monitoring the temperature and humidity levels and ratios, Snow Valley is able to constantly adjust air to water ratios when making snow. The process of making snow has become an art form – Snow Valley’s snowmaking team is passionate and takes a great deal of pride in the product that they produce.

Food and Beverage Venues
Snow Valley’s food and beverage venues provide a tremendous variety of options for the resort’s guests. The base lodge contains a sit down burger and sandwich restaurant. A full service bar and cocktail lounge is available as well as an outside BBQ. Other facilities on the mountain include Deer Meadow Terrace which is a lively sundeck venue with good food, music, and a bar.

Rentals
A complete rental facility is on-site with the latest in equipment for skiers and snowboarders. All equipment is well maintained at all times.

Ski and Snowboarding School
The ski and snowboarding school is a member of PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) and utilizes the American Teaching System. It is managed by Professional instructors with extensive experience. Snow Valley’s Ski and Snowboard School enjoys the reputation of being among the finest schools in the state of California.

Kinderschool (age 4-6)
Kindershool provides a great learning atmosphere where kids are in capable hands, learning and having fun while they take those first beginning steps. It’s designed for children age 4-6 who are ready to learn to ski or snowboard in smaller groups with lots of individual attention. Choose from half day or full day with lunch. Rental equipment is also available. Additional information can be obtained at the Learning Center and parents should plan to register their children one half hour prior to lesson start time.

Mountain Explorers (age 7-11)
Snow Valley’s Youth School offers special learning classes just for kids. Choose from a full day option which includes lunch or a half day plan. Rental packages are also available. Prices are the same for midweek, weekends, and even holidays! Instruction is tailored to age and ability.

Skiing and Snowboarding Terrain
